Name your cameras something boring.

Site, building, floor, inside or out, what it is and what people call it. Consistent names your NVR, your CLI and your 3am self can all read. Slide right for Shrek.

Buildings × floors × cameras per floor = labels. Or one CSV.

Generate list replaces the labels with buildings × floors × cameras per floor. Your current list is kept and comes back when you exit bulk mode.

      The boring rules

      1. Call out the device type with a standard abbreviation: CAM, PTZ, ICM, CR, NVR.
      2. Interior or exterior: INT or EXT.
      3. A number. Zero-padded, so 01 sorts before 10.
      4. A colloquial name. Loading Dock, not Camera 7.
      5. A proper location: site, building, floor.
      6. No spaces. Not even in the descriptions.
      7. No redundant "camera". Your NVR already says camera.
      8. Site or airport codes for large deployments: LAX, not Los Angeles Office.
